AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A celebration marking the birth anniversaries of Imam Hussain (a.s.), Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas (a.s.), and Imam Sajjad (a.s.) was held at the prayer hall of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, attended by a number of the Assembly’s directors and staff.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion of the blessed Sha‘ban festivities, Hojat al-Islam Mohammadi elaborated on the profound messages embodied in the birth and words of Imam Hussain (a.s.).
Congratulating Muslims on these auspicious anniversaries, he highlighted the inseparable link between the birth and martyrdom of Imam Hussain (a.s.), describing them as two dimensions of a single divine mission.
Explaining this perspective, Hojat al-Islam Mohammadi stated that the birth and martyrdom of Imam Hussain (a.s.) should not be viewed as two distinct incidents; rather, they form a continuous path and a unified mission, namely the restoration of truth and the reform of the Ummah.
In the second part of his remarks, referring to the current conditions of Iranian society and the enduring confrontation between truth and falsehood, he cited poignant verses attributed to Imam Hussain (a.s.), recited during his journey from Mecca toward Kufa in response to the poet Farazdaq. He described these verses as bearing enduring spiritual messages that help clarify true life priorities and guide believers in facing both worldly and otherworldly challenges..
The English translation of the cited verses is as follows:
If this world is deemed precious,
then surely the abode of divine reward, the Hereafter, is higher and more noble.
If bodies are created for death,
then by God, to die by the sword (in the path of truth) is better.
If sustenance has already been apportioned,
then moderation in seeking it is more fitting and more beautiful.
And if wealth is gathered only to be left behind and inherited,
then why should one cling greedily to possessions that must ultimately be abandoned?
Rooted in Imam Hussain’s (a.s.) deep faith and trust in God, these verses, he said, offer a lesson for contemporary society: amid the turbulence of the struggle between truth and falsehood, people must reassess their horizons in life and prioritize enduring values over fleeting worldly interests.
